DESCRIPTION:The Greater Iowa City Area HBA invites kids of all ages to summon their inner builder and enter its Lego Parade of Homes contest. Entries will be featured on the Lego Parade of Homes website\, starting June 6 at iowacityhomes.thegazette.com\, during what would have been the 2020 Greater Iowa City Area Parade of Homes. That event is now Aug. 1\, 2\, 4\, 6\, 8 and 9. \nHere’s how to enter:\nStep 1: Collect all your Legos.\nStep 2: Build your home sweet home.\nStep 3: Take photos of your creation.\nStep 4: Email photos by 5 p.m.\, Friday\, May 29 to karyl@hbaofic.org. Include the child’s first name\, age and their home description (e.g. number of bedrooms\, colors\, types countertops\, etc.). \n“We wanted to give kids in our communities something fun to do while also commemorating our traditional parade dates\,” said Greater Iowa City Area HBA Parade of Homes Chair Mitchell Manning of Sobaski Abbey Carpet & Floor. “We look forward to showcasing our real-houses Parade of Homes and Remodelers Parade in August.” \nJudges are representatives from Parade of Homes sponsors Hills Bank and Urban Acres Real Estate. Winners will be announced June 5 on Facebook @iowacityareahba and Instagram @icareahba. \nTop three in the categories of Building Excellence and Creative Description win:\n1st: $50 to Bread Garden and one Family Pass for five to Iowa Children’s Museum.\n2nd: $20 to Mamas Deli and one Family Pass for five to Iowa Children’s Museum.\n3rd: $15 to Woofables Gourmet Dog Bakery. \nPrizes are courtesy of Locals Love Us – ICR.
