The Greater Iowa City Area HBA announces the winners of its Rube Goldberg Machine Contest. The victors and their prizes are (click the winner to view their video):

The contest was held to provide an opportunity for kids up to age 18 to be creative while spending extraordinary amounts of time homebound. Entrants submitted a video of their working chain-reaction contraptions between April 17 and May 15. Judges were Iowa City Area HBA engineering/design members Sandy Steil, MMS Consulting; Mark V. Buell, CLB Home Planning & Design LLC; and Tony Frederick, Hart-Frederick Consultants. Iowa City Area HBA President Glenn Siders, Siders Development also judged. Prizes were courtesy of Locals Love Us – ICR.
“Thanks for running this contest – seems like (my daughter) had a lot of fun with it and it kept her busy for a whole day, which is definitely something to be appreciated in the time of (coronavirus),” noted one child’s mom.
